Nichibei Kaiwa Gakuin, Japanese Language Institute

Nichibei Kaiwa Gakuin Japanese Language Institute (NICHIBEI) has welcomed more than 9,000 students from over 90 countries and regions since it was founded in 1967. Many arrive with a specific goal — employment, starting a business, or postgraduate study — and because no single country or region dominates, students learn alongside classmates from genuinely varied backgrounds. Programmes run from one- and two-year courses carrying a student visa to short courses, evening and Saturday programmes and private lessons, combining the advantages of online and in-person study. Lessons use original textbooks written by the institute's own teachers. Its corporate training and instructor-dispatch services are used by a large number of companies and international organisations. In April 2026 the Ministry of Education (MEXT) certified the institute's programmes as an accredited Japanese language institution.
