• Completed 12+ years of school education or equivalent
• Age 18 or older
• Permitted (or expected to be permitted) to enter Japan through proper procedures
• Has a reliable guarantor
• Has Japanese ability appropriate to the enrollment period (April entrants: 150+ hours of Japanese study or JLPT N5-equivalent ability
• October entrants: JLPT N4-equivalent ability)
