• Completion of 12 years of school education or equivalent
• 18 years old or above
• permitted or expected to be permitted to enter Japan through proper procedures
• applicant/parents/guarantor able to bear tuition and living expenses
• has a reliable guarantor
• sufficiently healthy to continue studies
• completed 150 hours or more of Japanese study and has Japanese ability at approximately JLPT N5 level or above
• passed the school interview
