Going to study at a language school for 6 months. What are the best cities for this?

I'm planning to study Japanese at a language school (through GoGoNihon) for 6 months, starting in January 2027. Up until now I have really only looked into schools in Tokyo, since it is the place in Japan I know most about, it's the city with the most options for language schools and I think it would just be a very exciting city to explore in those 6 months. I was wondering if Tokyo really is the best place for me to stay during that period, or if there are any other cities that are just as exciting but more pleasant to live in for 6 months. By the way, I'm not planning to work while in Japan, if that is relevant at all.
Any recommendations for specific language schools that are available through GoGoNihon are also always welcome :D

I am going for a year to GENKI JACS, I start in October, but I elected to go to Nagoya. I don't know if it's correct but I picked the least touristy city out of my options. I figured being in a place like Tokyo will let me fall back on English too much. If the point is for me to learn Japanese, then I figured it's better if I had no choice.

I think for the 6 months Tokyo is fine since it's more city like and you have a ton of access with different things plus you can always take the train to nearby cities. But If you don't want the city and want to see Japan's nature sights or old building or temples then there are other places that can offer that. I think for more sightseeing maybe Kyoto or Osaka is best? I'm not really sure.
Your decision might depend on what outcome you want from this 6 months
I'm going to Hokkaido for my Language school cuz it's cheaper plus I hear that the food there is the best that Japan has to offer (From what my Japanese teacher and the internet is telling me)

I will be staying in Tokyo since it is my dream buut... If you can, find somewhere cheaper. I should have done more research and picked a cheaper area. I will spend about 400 euro a month for a room in a shared house, and yeah, the benefit is I will be living in Tokyo but it's pricey.
Maybe look into Osaka or Fukuoka?
