I’m thinking about studying in Japan and my current plan is to go to a language school first, then apply for undergrad there.
For people who already did this — was language school worth it? Did it actually help you get into university and adjust to life in Japan?
I’m also worried about tuition fees. My family and I have enough savings, but I really don’t want to become a burden to my parents financially. How hard is it to get tuition reduction/scholarships after language school? Is it realistic if you have good grades and Japanese level?
Would really appreciate honest advice or experiences 🙏

Lots of people at my language school went on to university. I married my wife + got my job at the end of language school. I also watched a lot of people crash and burn and realize they hated learning Japanese.
It varies from person to person. I’m not gonna lie to you and say you’re gonna have a great time here. But I’m also not gonna be a doomer like lots of people on Reddit and say you’re gonna hate Japan.
My best advice would be come to language school on a tourist visa for 3 months and see if you like it.

Yeah, doing 2-3 months of language school would give you a good check if you really want to continue or not.
I don’t think offer a tuition reduction or anything, and are quite pricy.
