Moving to language school in Japan soon but worried if the current situation in Iran will affect anything. Anyone else in the same boat?

Let's say I have been planning for over a year to move to Japan to attend language school. My work doesn't allow WFH, so I had to quit with 3 months notice (that's normal in my country). Yes, I know, it's irresponsible. Yes, I know, Japan won't fix my problems, I don't expect it to. Yes, I know, I might not be able to find a good job like that ever again (I make a whopping 1300 euro net monthly with a BSc degree) but I was tired of waiting, tired of postponing my plans, and I said screw it, gave my notice, got accepted to language school, and I bought my plane ticket.
But right after I gave my notice, the situation in Iran escalated, gas prices are surging through the roof (that's why I bought my ticket ASAP), and now I'm starting to kind of doubt my choices... Yes, there was no way I could have predicted that a world-affecting conflict would happen right after I got accepted to Language School but now I feel like I "took the right decision at the wrong time". Maybe I should have quit last year. Maybe I should have waited another year. Maybe... But what is done is done.
So I'm kind of worrying but will the current situation affect traveling, living and coming back from Japan? I feel like a world-wide recession is coming and I just quit a stable job to pursue a childhood dream... If you did like me and quit your job to move to language school, are you worried about what is transpiring now?

You’ll be fine.

The travel situation will be fine. War has been going on in the region and nearby for decades.
The part about he recession is probably true, though. However, you may not have been able to keep your job in that case anyway.

Unless you're from Iran or UAE or Qatar, you're fine.

Unless by moving to Japan to teach English, you meant moving to Pakistan to be a Christian missionary I do not see the slightest point of this post.

You aren't just one person taking a risk; you’re part of a massive, record-breaking cohort, as there are currently over 400,000 international students in Japan. As of mid-2025, Japan hit a record 3.95 million foreign residents. Even with global economic shifts, the country is doubling down on bringing people in to fill labor shortages.
The current leading political party represented by Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi are making the immigration a bit more restrictive, but there have been no notion of slowing things down for international student programs (and language schools) as far as I know.
I can help you with the transition to Japan in the DMs more, if you're interested!

Many of the flights from EU to Asia transfer through Dubai airport which I think has been closed temporarily. You may need to reroute.
Otherwise recessions don’t last long and pursuing a childhood dream ia a great way to ride one out.
